Art and Design

At St Finbars, we believe that art stimulates creativity, inventiveness and imagination. We recognise that art gives the skills, concepts and knowledge necessary for our pupils to express themselves and the world as they see it. We aim to give our pupils the opportunities to:

• produce a portfolio of creative work,
• explore their own ideas and record their experiences,
• become proficient in a number of art and design skills,
• evaluate and analyse creatives works using relevant and specific vocabulary and,
• know about great artists, craft makers and designers, and understand the historical and cultural development of their art forms.
