Here at St Finbar’s we take pride in our appearance and pride in our belonging to the St Finbar’s family.

We ask for your support in ensuring that your child comes to school each day with the correct uniform.

Please ensure that all school uniform, water bottles and lunch boxes are clearly marked with your child’s name.

Winter

All children are expected to wear:

  • Grey skirt, tunic, trousers or shorts
  • White blouse or white shirt
  • Red sweat-cardigan/jumper with school badge
  • Red & silver tie
  • White, black, grey or red socks
  • Black school shoes (no heels)

Summer

All children are expected to wear:

  • Plain red buttoned polo shirt
  • Grey skirt, tunic, trousers, shorts or red and white check dress
  • Black school shoes (no heels)

PE Kits

All children are expected to wear:

  • Plain black shorts, leggings or joggers
  • Plain white round-necked tee-shirt
  • Black pumps or trainers
  • Children should come into school wearing their PE kit on their PE day

Swimming Kit (KS2 only)

All children are expected to wear and bring:

  • Swimming cap
  • Towel
  • Appropriate swim wear (Boys must wear swimming trunks and not knee length shorts)

These expectations are set by Liverpool City Council and are inline with their policy for educational swimming.

Liverpool City Council policy does not permit the wearing of any jewellery for any child when they undertake educational swimming lessons. Under the policy, children who typically wear jewellery as an expression of religious observance have one of three choices to make when swimming with school:

  1. Remove jewellery for the duration of the swimming lesson
  2. Cover the item with appropriate clothing eg. T-Shirt to cover a cross and chain
  3. Not attend the swimming lesson

Jewellery

Children are permitted to wear stud earrings and a watch only.  Jewellery, as an expression of a religious observance, may only be worn, following a written request to and permission from the Headteacher.

We also have our own Pre-Loved Uniform ‘shop’.

Please ask at the school office or email the school office on (finbars-rec@st-finbars.liverpool.sch.uk) with your requests (e.g. item, sizes etc) and we will see what is available and get it ready for you to collect.

If you would like to donate any part of the school uniform, it must be washed and in good condition. Please drop any donations to the school office.   We have been able to help many of our families and will continue to do so.
