St. Finbar’s Feast Day

Y1-Y6, staff and Governors gathered in the school hall to celebrate St. Finbar’s specila day with Fr. Silviu.

CAFOD Assembly

Ann Lloyd-Jones shared an assembly on behalf of CAFOD informing us all of the work CAFOD do globally and how we can help and make a difference to our global neighbours.

Big Lent Walk

Great to see the whole school join in the Big Lent Walk for CAFOD. We marched around the school playground chanting and spreading the word about poverty. Well done everyone!

Mary’s Meals

Y1 really supported this charity this year. They learnt about the charity and the work they do for our global families. They then wanted to do some fundraising to send to the charity. Welld one Y1!

Reverse Advent Calendar

St. Finbar’s has strong links with St. Cleopas’ Food Pantry. During ADVENT the school family donate food to the pantry that is then passed on to our local community. The children learn a valuable lesson of service to the community they live within.

Alfred Stocks

A regular fixture on our school calendar is the children singing for the residents of Alfred Stocks. This year Orchid and Rose classes had the priviledge of entertaing the residents who showed their appreciation by supplying yummy refreshements for the children. The children love to sing!

Tesco’s

The children collaborated again to entertain the local area with their wonderful singing. Standing proudly in the foyer of Tesco’s, the children sang their hearts out to an appreciative audience made up of Parents/Carers/Carers, busy shoppers and Tesco’s staff. Orchid class, you were amazing!

Y2 and keeping our Common home looking clean

Y2 have embraced the call of ‘Caring for our Common home’. The children have been out and about in the Dingle area picking up the litter in conjunction with Liverpool City Council. What a fine job they did!

At St. Finbar’s, we have been inspired by Pope Francis’ message within Laudato Si’ and are answering the call for us to care four our common home. The Live Simply award enables us to care for God’s creation and stand in solidarity with our global neighbours by:

Living Simply

Living Sustainably

Living in Solidarity

Through the Live Simply award, we hope to live, not just more simply, but also more fully.
