24.02.26 – RE – Jesus heals the paralysed man.

Today, Uear 2 listened to the story of the paralysed man. Afterwards we acted out the story and we were able to retell it really well.

24.02.26 – Music – Ukulele Concert

Today, the whole school had a fabulous opportunity to listen to a special concert by the local ukulele group called the Dingle Ukes. They played folk songs, older pop songs and locally written songs. The children had a fantastic time listening, clapping and singing along with the music. Thank you to Wheel Meet Again group and Dingle Ukes for coming along.

11.02.26 – RSHE – Children’s Mental Health Week

Year 2 have been discussing who their trusted adult is that they could turn to when talking things over. We then made a list of 5 trusted adults on a palm template which they can keep.

09.02.26 – Art Club – Chinese Dragon (Chinese New Year).

Art Club made lovely Chinese dragons to celebrate Chinese New Year. They decorated them in feather and coloured paper.

06.02.26 – Maths – NSPCC Number Day

Year 2 had a lovely Number Day. We did some 2 times tables activities and we all dressed up in numbers to raise money for NSPCC. We then designed a Maths T Shirt.

03.02.26 – National Storytelling Week – Annemarie Anang

Year 2 really enjoyed listening to the story of Nefertiti today. They were making different sounds for being nervous and being scared. We also did some singing too.

02.02.26 – Maths – Making groups

Year 2 today were making groups using counters. They are getting ready to multiply and divide. They absolutely smashed it today! Well done Year 2.

02.02.26 – Art Club -Valentine’s Card

Art Club made some wonderful cards today. They made a stamper out of a plastic bag and it made the result look like roses.

21.01.26 – Art and Craft – creating a clay sculpture

Look at the lovely clay elephant this little learner made today. Fantastic details on the creation with tusks and a long trunk. He chose the colours and painted his sculpture by himself. Great work!

21.01.26 – Music – Listening for different British seaside sounds in a piece of classical music.

In music we have been studying some British traditional songs. Today we were listening to ‘The Lark Ascending’ by Ralph Vaughan Williams. We listened to hear the birds and the crashing waves and other aspects of the piece of music was discussed. We really enjoyed listening to the music.

20.02.26 – Computing – beginning to create a simple game using programming

Today in Year 2, we were beginning to create a simple game using programming on Scratch. We were able to change the background, the sprite and make it move.

13.01.26 – Maths – To count money in pence

Today in Year 2, we played a game using coins with a partner. One partner had to tell the other what the value of the coin was and how they could make this value using other coins, for example, 10p could be made using 5 2pences.

12.01.26 – RE – Retelling the visit of the Magi.

Look at the lovely craft work that Year 2 produce to tell the story of the visit to the baby Jesus of the Magi. We also had a lovely Epiphany service in school too.

06.01.26 – Music – Singing songs from around the British Isles

Today, Year 2 were learning to sing some songs from around the UK. They were singing Lavender Blue, London Bridge is falling down and My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean. We then played the game of London Bridge while singing the song.

19.12.25 – Christmas Party Day

What a lovely way to end the term. We had lots of games and loads of food and so much fun! Thanks to everyone who passed on gifts and wished us a Merry Christmas. See you all back on the 5th January. Happy Christmas and every blessing for 2026.

Phase 2, Year 1,2 and 3 had a fantastic Nativity play today. Great singing, wonderful acting and lovely narrating. Well done everyone!

Year 2 drew some fantastic artwork of the angel Gabriel announcing the birth of Jesus.

11.12.25 – Attendance Reward – Poppy Class

This afternoon, the children in Poppy class, who had over 97% attendance, got to throw snowballs at poor Father Christmas, I think he needs to have a good rest tonight!

11.12.25 – Father Christmas visit – Poppy Class

What a lovely surprise we got today when Father Christmas came to our class! He showed us on a map where he lived, we got our photos taken with him, we sang to him about his favourite reindeer Rudolph and he gave us lovely gifts.

10.12.25 – Coverdale Puppets

This afternoon we had a visit from Coverdale puppets and they performed their Christmas show called ‘Angel delight’. We found it funny and enjoyed seeing all the different puppets. We even had a little boogie to some fun music and songs throughout.

08.12.25 – RHSE – Importance of good hygiene.

Today Poppy Class discussed about what good hygiene is. We conducted an experiment. We covered our hands with fake germs and then touched different surfaces in class. We were then able to see how these germs can be transported throughout the whole school very easily. We used a light to shine to see the germs clearly. We then quickly washed our hands and then watched if all the germs had disappeared or not.

Thank you to Father Silviu for visiting Daffodil and Poppy class and sharing the wonderful time of Advent and the importance of hope, peace, joy and love within our world.

Today Year 1 and 2 came together to hear Father Silviu speaking about Advent. He spoke about the meaning of the Advent candles and the children asked lots of questions.

04.12.25 – Singing Club – Christmas Carols and songs at Tesco.

What a lovely afternoon we had with Year 2 and Year 4 singing club today. We went to Tesco and sang really well. There were lots of people to see us and we raised money for school as well.

03.12.25 – PE – Moving like animals

Today in PE, year 2 had to listen to music and learn to move to to it like safari animals. They needed to crawl like lions etc. They came up with some of the their own ideas. Well done.

25.11.25 – PSHE – what is Parliament and what does it do?

This week is UK parliament week and today we watched a short video about how parliament works. We discussed about how laws are made and the process before it gets passed. We then took a virtual tour of Westminster and coloured some diagrams of the House of Commons and the House of Lords.

24.11.25 – KS1 Art and Craft Club – decorating a Christmas gift

Today we had a painting session in Art and Craft Club. We were painting autumn and winter scenes on a notebook, which the children can give as a gift to someone. The children really enjoyed painting with cotton buds to create leaves!

20.11.25 – RSHE – Road safety

Today, we talked about how to be safe while crossing the road. We discussed about Stop, Look and Listen.

19.11.25 -History – Impact of Christopher Columbus’ journeys

Year 2 have a loved learning about Christopher Columbus this half term. Today, we looked at the impact that Columbus made on the spread of religion, the improvements of shipping and the trading of foods. We were able to work in pairs to recall our facts.

13.11.25 – RSHE – Anti-bullying

Today, we discussed about how to be an upstander -someone who does not tolerate bullying. We then designed an Anti-bullying superhero! Look at their lovely designs.

12.11.25 -RSHE- NSPCC visit

Today, we had a lovely visit from Buddy and a lady from NSPCC. We discussed how we can speak up if something is wrong and who are the safe adults to talk to.

10.11.25 -RSHE- Odd Sock day

Today we launched Anti-bullying week by participating in odd sock day. We attended an assembly and Miss Summers introduced our theme for this year’s anti-bullying week, which is ‘Power for good’. Then we had fun learning the Andy and the Odd socks song called ‘Power for good’.

04.11.25 – Maths – Adding 2 two digit numbers

Today, we were demonstrating how we can add 2 two digit numbers using various methods, like column and using pictorial representation. Everyone really enjoyed doing this today and absolutely smashed it!

16.10.25 – English – Having some fun as the Night Gardener

Someone in our class decided to dress up as the Night Gardener. I wonder who it is? He did a great job sneaking around without anyone seeing him cutting the trees!

13.10.25 – RE – Knowing that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.

Today, we created a collage showing how each one of us is unique and that God loves us all. We learned how God made us all different and we each have varied personalities.

08.10.25 – RE – The awe and wonder of creation

Today, we had a lovely time in our school garden, looking at the vibrant features of God’s creation and His beautiful creatures which he made. We looked at the fish and their stripes, we looked at the delicate features on leaves and we talked about how each plant is so unique.

19.09.25 – RE – Acting out a baptism.

Today, we used drama to act out the various stages of Baptism. We had godParents/Carers, water, a priest and a congregation.

The children were able to retell the various aspects of a baptism ceremony.

16.09.25 – Maths – Place Value

Today, we were making two digit numbers and discovering how many tens and how many ones were in each number. We were able to make these using base ten.

12.09.25 English – Using drama to depict a story

Today, we used drama to retell the story of The Night Gardener. Some of us were trees, another person was William and some of us were people from Grimlock Lane. This will help us write lovely story setting descriptions.

VE Day celebration

Today we had a fantastic street party at lunch time. We made some VE Day crowns and we flew our paper Spitfires.

No Pen Day

This week we had a ‘no pen’ day, we still completed all our lessons and had some fun along the way! We learned about telling the time, about the Stone Age and we planted some pea seeds.

Easter activities

Today, we had an Easter assembly, an Easter Bonnet parade and an Easter Concert! Wow, what a busy day, but we had lots of fun!
